1. Who we are
Zil’oKA” was founded in January 2008 by members of the UK based French Caribbean Association, MBMB.
The name of the group was chosen to be a true representation of its purpose. Indeed it means
“Islands moving to the Ka”
The group aims at representing the French Caribbean diaspora in the UK by promoting the diversity of our traditional rhythms, singing, and dances which includes GwoKa which is from Guadeloupe, Bèlè which is from Martinique, Biguine from both islands and many more.
Zil’oKA is now an NCVO registered association.
